How You Can Create an Effective Social Media Post

If you’re like many of us, you have come to rely on social media as part of your marketing efforts.  As much as we would like, there is no magic formula that we can follow to ensure that all of our posts are entertaining and worthy of getting shared.  Depending on which social media websites you use, they all operate in somewhat different fashions.

The fans that you may have on one site may not be as entertained by your posts as some on other sites, this means that you need to find a happy medium and produce content that will ensure your fans are happy on all of your social media pages.  To help you make the most of your social media efforts, I have put together some tips for use on each of the different social media websites.

  • Facebook – When you post on Facebook it is important that you posts are upbeat and positive.  This type of content tends to be more appealing to your fans and is more likely to get shared.  You should also remember to include a link back to your website to help drive your fans to your site.  This is likely the primary reason you created a Facebook page after all isn’t it.  If you include images in your posts, you should make sure that they can easily be viewed on mobile devices; it’s more common for your fans to view your posts on their phones than a traditional computer.
  • Pinterest – Pinterest is still somewhat of a new social media site and many businesses are still trying to figure how to use it to their benefit.  One of the most important things to keep in mind when using Pinterest is that images that do not feature a face are often repinned more often than images featuring a face.  Color is also another important element to use when posting images.  It has been shown that images that feature the colors red or orange are repinned twice as much as other images.
  • Twitter – With the limited amount of characters you have to work with on this platform, it is important that you include a clear call to action in your tweets.  You should also make the most out of your limited space by using shorter links to your website.  There are a number of tools available that can help you shorten a link that you are sharing.  To engage your followers you may want to consider adding facts, questions, and figures.
