"Best Left Buried" by Cindy Hutchins Book Review & Giveaway!

"Best Left Buried" By Cindy Hutchins Book Review and Giveaway

Think Dean Koontz meets Stephen King meets Alfred Hitchcock meets Cindy Hutchins... That is the feel of “Best Left Buried”.

As many may know, I seldom have time to read for leisure.  Actually, I can’t recall the last book other than children books that I have read just because I wanted to sit and read a good book.  However I digress, I recently received a copy of “Best Left Buried” by Cindy Hutchins.  After finishing up work for the day (generally around 2 to 3 in the morning) I began reading this unknown treasure.  After the first few pages, I was hooked causing the next few days to be outrageously late nights (still up when my children rose).  It was just that GOOD! If you ever wondered if a persons thoughts could create an evil entity, you definitely need to read this book!

“Best Left Buried” combines suspense, paranormal, betrayal, mental illness, love, desire, and family secrets all into one neat and engaging package.  Reading similar to a Dean Koontz novel, where you are transpired from one entity to the next; the transitions are so smooth you feel more like you are living the moments - like viewing a movie.  These smooth transitions throughout this book keep you anxious for the next; to see what is next; to feel what is next.

The main and leading characters are well developed.  While I read, I found myself reading in how I felt the characters would sound if I was to have met them in person.  It is so well written that I could picture the surroundings, see their faces, and hear their speech in my mind.

"Best Left Buried" transpires in a quaint North Carolina town full of folklore and legends along with the typical small town people mentality with the underlying sense of town folk loyalty.  May the loyalty be out of fear or a sense of duty, you will find the town folk play a huge role as a character rolled up as one in "Best Left Buried".  Another surprising leading role has got to go to birds!  Yes.. Birds!  You will never look at birds in the same light again after reading this book.

The main character you will meet is Arliss Pardot, first as a child, brought to present as a somewhat reserved and respected doctor madly in love with Nick, a fellow co-worker and research Dr.  The beginning of the book introduces you to Arliss as the child, trapped in a horror movie of her own in a cabin deep in the North Carolina woods with her mother, a near death aged man, and a cabin full of caged wild birds.  Rescued at the age of 11, through means you will have to read to find out, she is adopted and manages to grow up to lead a fairly normal remaining childhood and productive adult life.  Until the day she received the phone call of her biological mothers passing, her life seemed fairly normal. After that phone call, nothing would ever be normal again.

I love the way that the author Cindy Hutchins slowly unveils various key characters in the book.  She slips just the right amount in at just the right times that keep you spellbound and eager to find out more about each one. She throw in a couple great twist that when you thought you had a character fully revealed, another HUGE secret is revealed.  By the time you are done reading this book you will be begging for more!!!
